CBD for Pets

Yes! Like humans - dogs, cats, and other mammals also have an endocannabinoid system. Adding CBD to their routine helps support your pet's ability to maintain homeostasis.

Our whole-plant hemp extract contains many more beneficial compounds than just CBD. Including additional detectable cannabinoids, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, and antioxidants - all of which support long-term health.

Nope. Not possible.

Hemp and cannabis are pretty similar to look at but under the proverbial hood, they are very different.

Hemp plants contain no more than 0.3% THC. That's the compound in cannabis that causes you to feel high... and it's naturally present in such a tiny amount that can't get anyone high.

We go a step further and use a hemp extract that has all THC removed. (Also known as a broad spectrum extract.)

Our hemp extract and CBD are perfectly pet-safe, non-habit forming, and non-psychoactive.
The National Animal Supplement Council recently did a first-of-it's-kind study on the tolerability of CBD products in healthy dogs and the results showed no negative impacts over 90 days of daily use.

We’ve worked with thousands of owners and veterinarians and we have only ever seen positive things happen when pets are given CBD. It might surprise you that for pets (and humans alike) there is no negative consequence to consuming too much CBD, except you'll have used up all of your chews!

Of course, while nothing serious can occur, we always advocate administering the recommended serving size to avoid any unforeseen complications.

Should your pet eat an entire package (let me guess, you have a labrador) please consult your veterinarian and be possibly prepared for an upset tummy, simply from eating too many chews!

Our CBD comes hemp grown and processed with organic practices in the USA.

Yes! Although many pet owners seek out CBD for a specific reason, all of our formulas are suitable for supporting homeostasis.

A friendly reminder - we're not veterinarians, and we recommend seeking your pet's vet's advice especially when it comes to introducing anything new to your pet's treatment plan.

While plenty of pet owners incorporate CBD into their pet's wellness routine, CBD is still relatively new and many vets aren't familiar with it. So, if your vet has any questions about our ingredients or our formulas, we'd be happy to an

You'll notice that we say this a lot but it's true - every pet is different.

Some pets will experience the benefits of CBD in as little as five minutes, but others don't start to respond until after a week or two while CBD builds up in their system. Typically, pet owners see some response within 30 - 45 minutes.

If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact us and we'll help you figure out the right routine for your pet.

How to Use our Products

If you've never used CBD with your pet before, we recommend starting with the following:

For Dogs: 2mg of CBD per 10lbs of weight

For Cats: 3mg of CBD per 10lbs of weight

Observe your pet after giving CBD, it's normal to do some trial and error to find the right amount for them.

CBD can be given as-needed or as part of a daily wellness routine.

Tips for Serving Chews
If you have a picky eater, try smearing a little bit of something tasty like peanut butter on the chew. You can also crumble the chew into a bit of milk or broth.

Tips for Serving Oils
Many pets will lick CBD oil straight off a small dish, but if you're still having trouble, mix the oil with a small amount of food (we recommend peanut butter again!) Or drop oil onto another treat they already like a biscuit or something freeze-dried, works well.

Some creative geniuses even hollow out a bite of banana to serve CBD oil to their picky pets. 🤯

Our chews and oils contain the same helpful CBD molecule and use the same broad-spectrum hemp extract.

Choosing between chews and oils is a matter of your pet's needs & your lifestyle.

Some factors to consider are..

CBD CHEWS

  • Convenient CBD
Easy-to-break soft chews are simple to provide pets in whole or break in half.
  • Easy to take on-the-go
No fuss or worries about spilling - take our soft chews with you anywhere.

CBD OILS

  • Versatile CBD
Measured droppers let you give your pet the exact amount of CBD they need.
  • Easier for many pets
Great for pets that have trouble chewing
  • Faster Acting
CBD oil can get to work a bit faster than chews, which need time to digest.

Ultimately, the choice is up to you. And remember, you can use BOTH!

Many of our oils have fish or animal-derived ingredients, and for this reason we do not recommend applying them topically.

However, our minimal ingredient 600mg or 1200mg hemp and MCT oils may be used topically. Just be sure to wipe your dog or cat dry after allowing some time for it to absorb.

In our effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible, so we do not include a scoop with our powders.

Instead, we've standardized the amount to a common household measurement - a teaspoon.

If you are using our Green Lipped Mussel powder, we recommend a half-teaspoon per 50 lbs of pet weight.

For all other powders, we recommend a half-teaspoon per 25 lbs of pet weight.

Asking for a friend? No judgement here! You’re now an official member of the Austin and Kat pack. Welcome! ;)

Our "chews" are made with human-grade ingredients, so go ahead and keep snacking. Just don't be surprised if your pup gets a little jealous.

Storage & Recycling

You can store your chews in their sealed package for up to one and a half years or until the expiration date passes (and if you freeze them, they’ll last for up to two years).

And let’s be honest, your pet is going to love them so much that you’ll be reordering long before they expire.

As a reminder, don’t store these in warm places, please.

Oils containing animal-derived products should be used within 90 days of opening.

All other formulas can be stored in a cool, dry place up to a year after opening.

We recommend refrigerating our oils only if you're not planning on finishing the bottle within 4-6 months of opening.

Simply storing our CBD oils in a cool, dry place is enough.
